Taking lives Once again, the

Taking lives

Once again, the story is fictitious, but it really shows the problems of marriage and how you can solve them with God. Also, chessplayerjames is right-Jesus Himself told parables, which are most certainly fiction. Now, I m not saying you should go out and read anything and everything. I refuse to read Harry Potter or Twilight. There is a lot of junk out there, but there is some good stuff too. And movie reviews like ScreenSmart can help us steer clear of the bad stuff and find the good in entertainment, and, yes, fiction. i definitely don t like the sound of this movie. i d never watch it. it just looks gross. Julie, i agree with u on everything, just one thing tho. many people are on different stages of their walk with Jesus. Many people still watch things like this, and worse. What melanie is doing is trying to help them along, to tell them to watch better movies and better movies, until they can give taking lives up entirely. It s sort of like helping a drug addict away from drugs. I ve heard tons of sermons where movies are compared to drugs in having that sort of effect, so im not surprised that you would have to get someone away from movies the same way you would help a drug addict. Guide Magazine isn t only for the people who have walked with Jesus for a long time. It s for everyone. To Julie, I don t remember God ever saying thou shalt not read fiction! My problem with modernizing and reworking classic stories is that even if you read the synopsis and don t even watch the movie, it still seems to just not end up like the original and ends in disaster. And seriously, i was expecting a movie like Rango or Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 or Hop to be reviews; y know the kid friendly stuff. But something like Beastly? Not to mention you also reviewed New Moon, which i think was a mistake. Just as a rule of thumb, i wouldn t review movies that are Pg-13 for excessive violence, disturbing imagery and so on. I agreed with The Forbidden Kingdom and Iron Man, but taking lives it s just not happening. LOL Julie. If we shouldn t read fiction, then we shouldn t read the Bible. Why is that? Because Jesus used many parables, which are fiction. End of story, its fiction, no matter what you say. It didn t happen, and is therefore fiction, and you can t argue against that. So don t read the Bible if thats your viewpoint. i dont like how this version of beauty and the beast involves alot of witchcraft, crude language, and inapropiate scenes. it just ruins the whole purpose of the movie, which is to demonstrate how the beauty is on the inside not the outside. Personally, I dislike Vanessa Husgens, but I mean come on julie! We christians aren t in a bubble. In Mathew 20:18-20 Jesus tells his disciples to Go therfore and make disciples That doesn t mean with other christians. You can t avoid it forever. Get out of that bubble. Enjoy life with God in it. It s just not the same as Beauty and the Beast. And I agree on taking lives you say Melanie. I don t think it s Melanie who chooses what movies to review anyways.
