I had gone HD-DVD 2 years ago even though the picture quality is comparable to blu ray the load times were ridiculous. I would recomment this unit in regard to quality pricing for all concerned. Netflix has been a problem so far, first night I was able to stream a movie, but haven t been able to log in since. Having to go through Sony has been the problem. Having to turn on and off player and ejecting disc manually has been the only mechanical inconvenience, but happy with player otherwise. Without reading the instructions I had it installed and playing content from Amazon video on demand in 15 minutes. I have the Samsung 50 inch 780p plasma and I think picture quality was superb. Resolution and streaming quality are entirely dependent on the speed of your internet connection and how the movie was compressed. Some HD titles with adequate internet speed look fantastic.
